​Vlad Stanku won a silver medal in the 400m freestyle at the World Junior Swimming Championships, finishing second in the final in Lima.

Our athlete recorded a time of 3:48.38. Only the Brazilian Stefan Steverink (3:48.27) surpassed Vlad, and the bronze went to the Pole Krysztof Khmelevsky (3:49.34).

Romania, an extraordinary result at the Junior World Championship in Lima

The second medal for Romania at the World Championships in Lima was brought by the men’s 4×100 meter freestyle relay. The Romanian national team led by David Popovici won the gold.

Also, Aissia Claudia Prisecariu (1:02.59 – the fourth time in the semi-finals) and Rebecca Amy Diaconescu (1:02.64 – the fifth performance) reached the final of the 100 m backstroke (the medal match will take place on Thursday, from 03:23).
