Russian President Vladimir Putin scowled throughout a briefing in the Kremlin by Viktor Zolotov, considered one of his most trusted generals, and was seen squeezing the table between them.

The Russian press wrote on Tuesday morning that Vladimir Putin will meet in the Kremlin with the commander of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya) Zolotov, this was reported by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmytro Peskov.

“During the day, the president works in the Kremlin, has a number of meetings. They will be opened by the report of the head of the Federal Service of the National Guard, Viktor Zolotov, who will be with the president,” said Peskov.

The Kremlin spokesman emphasized that today’s meeting will be important.

Videos released by the Kremlin after the meeting show Vladimir Putin frowning during the meeting as Zolotov tells him how Ukrainians are showing “support” for Russian occupation soldiers.

Thousands of soldiers of the Russian Guard died in Ukraine

Zolotov, 68, lost thousands of his troops during a “special military operation” ordered by the Russian president in late February.

The Russian Guard, which reports directly to Putin, was created in 2016 to fight terrorism and organized crime, and until February 24 was used domestically to suppress peaceful anti-government protests.

Several Western analysts noted that the fighters of this unit will not be trained for combat operations similar to those conducted by Russian troops in Ukraine. At the end of May, the Western mass media wrote about the case of more than 100 Russian Guardsmen who refused to fight.

But the new meeting with Zolotov in the Kremlin was not the only time Putin was seen clutching the table in front of him, with some suggesting the Russian president was suffering from early stage Parkinson’s disease and that it was a way to avoid his characteristic hand tremors.

The video recording also seems strange because Zolotov is mostly just talking about the day-to-day activities of the Russian Guard, which Putin knows very well, since he ordered the creation of this type of armed forces and is its commander-in-chief.

Recently, a Russian general got into a scandal

Independent Russian journalists and foreign analysts who specialize in Russia-related issues believe that Zolotov is one of Putin’s most trusted generals, unlike Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who appears to have remained on the sidelines.

Zolotov’s report to the Kremlin on Tuesday came after several Russian investigative websites revealed that five years ago the general flew aboard a private jet to the Seychelles accompanied by an army of beautiful women and several other high-ranking military officers of the Russian Guard.

The trip is considered controversial, since only a day before, Zolotov signed an exclusive contract with the companies of oligarch Boris Vaninsky to supply the Russian Guard with food. Investigative journalists found out that the contract prices were higher than the market prices.

Artem, Zolotov’s nephew, studies at the prestigious British school of Cranley, although the official propaganda of the Kremlin-controlled TV channels constantly criticizes Western “decadence”.
