According to Novak Djokovic’s official website, the Serb will compete in the ATP 250 tournament in September and early October, his first since being suspended from the 2022 US Open on the grounds that he has not been vaccinated against Covid.
The Serb’s first competition after the US Open is the September 22-25 Laver Cup in London, an exhibition tournament where he will play Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.
The Serbian is looking forward to his first ATP tournament after being suspended from the US Open. The former world No. 1 will play at the Tel Aviv Watergen Open, which starts on September 26.
Novak Djokovic will take part in the ATP 250 tournament in Tel Aviv
The tournament in Tel Aviv will be Novak Djokovic’s first competition in Israel after 16 years.
In February 2006, he helped Serbia win a Davis Cup match against Israel 4–1 in Ramat Hasharon.
It will also be Djokovic’s second ATP 250 of the season after reaching the final in Belgrade in April, where he lost to Andriy Rublev.
The Tel Aviv Watergen Open will be held from September 26 to October 2 on the hard court, with a prize pool of $949,475.
At this competition in 1983, Aaron Krickstein became the youngest tennis player to win an ATP tournament (16 years and 2 months, a record that still stands).
