Organizers of the US Open 2022 have announced the program for the second day, with Sorana Kirstya and Iryna Begu set to compete on Tuesday at the final Grand Slam of the year.

Sorana Cîrstea will be the first to compete at Flashing Meadows. In the first match on court 14, she will play against Germany’s Laura Siegemund (44 WTA).
At the same time, Iryna Begu will meet with Elise Mertens (33 WTA). The Romanian’s game will be her third on court 14.
Matches at both venues start at 11:00 local time (18:00 Romanian time).
Kirstya and Siegemund have met twice at WTA tournaments, sharing their victories. The last direct match in 2019 in Miami, where the German won, the score 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.
Instead, Iryna Begu lost all three games in a row to Elise Mertens. The last confrontation between the two athletes was at the Australian Open 2022, where the Belgian won in two sets 6-3, 6-2.
We will remind, on Monday, Simona Halep was unexpectedly knocked out by Daria Snigur (124 WTA, a qualifier) with a score of 2-6, 6-0, 6-4. At the same time, Gabriela Ruse overtook Daria Saville, and Jacqueline Christian was soundly defeated by the second favorite, Anette Kontaveit.
