The Minister of Health spoke about the possibility of taking new measures with the opening of schools, Thanos Pleuris.
According to him, the Ministry of Health is in touch with the Ministry of Education on this issue, while everyone wants the work of schools to be as close to normal as possible.
“We have a logic in that in a context where we are trying not to take measures that are not needed or mandatory measures, this should also be a model in schools,” Mr. Pluris initially said in his statements to MEGA.
And he added: “I believe that the tests should be targeted and part of the mask should remain in the recommendation, and not in the obligation.”
“Our intention is not to take more action than we see today. If they are taken, they will be light,” he concluded.
Pahoni: It makes no sense for children to wear masks to school
In turn, EINAP President Matina Pagoni expressed the opinion that students should not return to school wearing masks.
Explaining her reasoning, she said that in the summer everyone went on vacation with acquaintances and friends, kissed and hugged grandparents and played on playgrounds, but there were fewer cases of coronavirus, as well as hospitalizations.
Given these facts, the President of EINAP emphasized that at the moment it makes no sense to tell children to wear a mask on September 12 to go to school.
However, he urged parents to test their children before sending them to school.
“Children can go without masks, and if we have any complications when we raise the rates, the committee here should suggest what changes need to be made. But don’t put children in jail now and send them to schools in masks,” he told SKAI.
