Six people died, seven were injuredan accident that occurred on Saturday when a truck crashed into a group of people having lunch outside nearRotterdamaccording to a new report released today by the Dutch police.

“As a result of yesterday’s accident, we had six people killed and seven injured, one seriously,” police spokeswoman Miriam Burse said.

“We are still investigating what exactly happened,” he added. Police initially ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack.

The initial report on the accident last night in Zuindsedik, about 30 kilometers south of Rotterdam, said at least two people were killed and several were injured.

According to police, the truck veered off course and crashed into a group of people attending a barbecue organized by the local figure skating team.

The 46-year-old driver of the truck with Spanish license plates was not injured. He was arrested on the spot and taken into custody.

The Boers specified that the driver “was not under the influence of alcohol”. Police have asked witnesses to help with the investigation.

A spokesman for the driver’s employer, Spanish transport company El Mosca, told Spanish newspaper La Verdad that the truck swerved to avoid colliding with a van.

Police did not confirm the report, but said they were questioning the driver of the white van as a witness.
