Arrested last Thursday by members of the public security department of the Athens sub-directorate of security, a 39-year-old citizen accused of embezzlement, fraud and computer fraud by profession, by habit and by continuation, with the pursuit of a financial gain of more than 120,000 euros.

As it became known to the investigation, the 39-year-old man turned to the owners of gambling agencies, reporting false information, and managed to convince them to hire him.

Then, after gaining access to the fund, he will withdraw the available amount of money, and at the same time he will register in his own name, coupons for various games, large amounts of money, without paying the money price.

He committed these criminal acts on the first working day and before it was possible to sign the relevant employment contract, where he had to present identification documents – and immediately left.

In addition, when circumstances allowed, he turned off the agency’s surveillance system recorder so that there would be no record of his presence in the area.

In addition, and in those cases when one of the tickets presented by him won, he moved to another agency and cashed it out.

During the preliminary investigation, 20 cases of theft and fraud committed in gambling agencies in various parts of Attica were revealed.

The detainee was taken to the prosecutor’s office in Athens.
