
The Romanian women’s polo team made its debut with a defeat in Group A of the European Championship: the tricolors lost to the German team in Split with a score of 15-10.
The score at halftime was 2-1, 3-4, 4-4, 6-1.
The group also included the national teams of Croatia, Hungary, Greece and the Netherlands. In the next match, on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m., the tricolors will meet Greece.
The four best teams from each of the two groups will advance to the quarterfinals.
Romania’s men’s team will make their European Championship debut, also in Croatia, on Monday in Group C alongside Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
The first places will go directly to the quarter-finals of the competition, and the teams that will take 2-3 places will play in the play-offs, also for entering the quarter-finals.
