Krejcikova, 23 WTA – the main favorite of the match, lost to American Bernarda Pera (51 WTA), score 6-4, 6-1. The match lasted one hour and 29 minutes.

Second favorite Martina Trevisan announced her loss before a dispute with Shuai Zhang (35 WTA), while Madison Brengle (63 WTA) defeated Kateryna Aleksandrova 3-6, 7-5, 7-5. The game lasted two hours and seven minutes.
