
An upward trend in the average weekly viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in urban wastewater in three of the eleven districts monitored by the National Wastewater Epidemiology Network (EDEL) EODY was observed in the week of August 15-21, compared with the week. 8 to 14 August.
Declining trends were observed in three of the eleven EDL regions, and stabilization trends were observed in five EDL regions.
A net upward trend in the average weekly viral load of municipal wastewater was observed in Patras (+135%), while the increase was marginal in Chania (+29%) and Attica (+15%). A net downward trend in the average weekly viral load of municipal wastewater was observed in Ioannina (-53%), while a slight downward trend was found in Volos (-29%) and Thessaloniki (-19%). The viral load of municipal wastewater remained stable in Agios Nikolaos (-3%), Alexandroupolis (-4%), Larissa (0%), Xanthi (+4) and Heraklion (+6).
