The Football Federation of Ukraine announced that the 2022/2023 season has officially started in Ukraine, and on Monday matches of the under-19 championship took place in Shchaslyvo, Hrebinky and Kyiv.
“Today, three matches between teams under 19 of the championship of Ukraine were successfully held. This means that a special football season has begun, in full-scale war conditions. Despite numerous obstacles and the despair of skeptics, football in Ukraine is reviving,” said Federation President Andriy Pavelko.
He stated that one of the matches was stopped after an air raid warning was sounded.
“It happened at the end of the match between Chornomorets and Veres. According to the protocol, all participants and organizers of the match went into shelter. After the army announced the alarm, after about 20 minutes the teams finished the match,” Andrija Pavelka was quoted by News.ro.
