
On the second day, extensive atmospheric instability will be presented weather today, Monday, with showers and thunderstorms over most of the central and northern parts of the mainland.
The reason for this sudden change is an atmospheric disturbance located to the northwest of our country over the wider Adriatic.
According to the latest forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, the main weather characteristics on Monday 22 August will be as follows:
- Rains and storms mainly in Epirus, Thessaly, Macedonia, Upper Sterea (including Attica), Upper Peloponnese and places in Thrace.
- Local events in parts of Macedonia and Thessaly will last longer and significant rainfall is likely.
- Localized thunderstorms in parts of Macedonia and Thessaly are likely to be accompanied by small hail.

The temperature will fluctuate in Western Macedonia from 16 to 28 degrees, in the rest of Northern Greece from 18 to 31-33 degrees, in Epirus from 18 to 32 degrees, in Thessaly from 19 to 34 degrees, in the rest of the mainland from 19 to 32 -34 degrees, in the Ionian Islands from 20 to 31 and in the Aegean and Crete from 20 to 32-33 degrees Celsius.
Winds in the Aegean will blow from different directions with a force of 2-4 Beaufort, with the exception of the southernmost seas, where a westerly current of 4-5 Beaufort will prevail. The northwest wind will blow Ionian, force 4-5 on the Beaufort scale.
In Attica, we expect some clouds to gradually thicken, as well as local rains and sporadic storms. The wind will blow from different directions with a force of 2-4 on the Beaufort scale. The temperature will fluctuate from 25 to 33-34 degrees.
In Thessaloniki, clouds with rain are expected in places and at times, and thunderstorms in places. The wind will blow from the south with a force of 2-3 on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will fluctuate from 23 to 31 degrees.
