Residents of the Dolj County area filmed and posted on social media Sunday evening images of the tornado. According to those who posted the images, they were captured in the Albeşti area. In recent weeks, extreme weather events have also been recorded in Doli, News.ro reports.

Pictures posted by a netizen on Facebook show a gray cloud crossing the sky. “The first big tornado, Craiova, Romania. The region of Simnicul de sus … Albeşti”; is a comment that accompanies the image.

At the same time, another internet user filmed the tornado from another area. The woman who took and posted the image on Sunday night explains: “there’s a tornado in Albesti right now.”

It is not the first time that extreme weather events occur in Dolj County.

At the beginning of July, the city of Craiova was devastated by a storm that lasted almost an hour and was declared a red meteorological code. During this period, more than 500 calls were received to number 112 in the Dolj district.

On July 3, 14 roofs were damaged by strong winds in Kraiów, 26 trees were blown down by gusts of wind on the roadway or in pedestrian areas, and more than 51 cars were damaged as a result of the storm.

“We had Code Red, there is nothing but Code Red,” said the mayor of Craiova, Olgutsa Vasilescu.
