Israelis soldiers killed an 18-year-old Palestinian in the city Nablus in the occupied West Bank during clashes that broke out shortly before Jarama. three more Palestinians were hit by Israeli bullets and more than 30 of their compatriots were injured in the clashes, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Incidents erupted when Israeli army forces entered Nablus, escorting Jewish pilgrims on their way to Joseph’s tomb, a place of Jewish worship that sparked several clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. The Israeli military said the 18-year-old Palestinian who died was armed and shot at the soldiers, which the Palestinians deny.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided the offices of seven Palestinian non-governmental organizations in Ramallah and other cities in the West Bank. According to Palestinian sources, the soldiers confiscated computers and other equipment in offices and then sealed them as part of a decision by the Israeli government to label six non-governmental organizations “terrorist” without condemnation. Among these organizations is Al-Haqq, which enjoys international respect and fights for the human rights of Palestinians detained either by Israel or the Palestinian Authority. Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz claimed that these were front organizations for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which also has an armed unit. The EU has not accepted Israel’s complaints against the organizations in question due to lack of evidence, and nine of its member states have said they will continue to work with them.
