Speaking about the podcast The Twilight Effect with Ashley Greene and Melanie Howe, the director mentioned the fact that many celebrities wanted to be in the film at least for a little while, because they love vampire films so much.

“The craziest request came from Taylor Swift who was a big fan and we even had the same manager at the time. So this manager said, “Taylor would love to be in the movie because she’s a fan. It could be sitting in the cafeteria, at a dinner party… whatever. He just wants to come.”

The director added: “The hardest thing for me was that once Swift is on screen and for about five minutes, no one will be able to focus on the film. Now I regret it because we could have become friends with Swift.”
