Popular American rock band Nationala new song is expected to be released – “Strange goodbye– in collaboration with Bon Iver.
American composer and National guitarist Bryce Dessnerrecently spoke to the NME website about the band’s new material as well as upcoming shows ahead of the fall.
During concerts in 2022, The National introduced several new songs to fans. “We wanted to ‘test’ the songs in front of the public. Our path in the music industry from 2003 to 2019 was non-stop. There was no break between writing and releasing our albums. With the coronavirus pandemic and other events in our lives, we have been able to fully dedicate ourselves to new material,” said Dessner. “The completion of the songs we record live is in full swing, but we discover various details as we create them. We have a small studio backstage so we can and do work there.”
As for “Weird Goodbye”, the single premiered in Spain in May without the help of Justin Vernon.
After this concert – the first for The National in 3 years – the song was performed at seven more concerts. However, this is not the only novelty in the list of songs performed by the band members on stage: among them “Space Invaders” and “Grease In Your Hair”.
The band’s latest album, I Am Easy To Find, was released in 2019.
