Russia presented a fake Bayraktar TB2 drone at the Army 2022 military forum, to which it invited its allies, saying it was captured from the Ukrainians.

The image was spotted by military analyst Oryx, who pointed out mistakes made in the creation of the fake: the drone is painted the wrong color, the serial number and markings are wrong, and the Russian Bayraktar has fake ammunition. Russian mass media write that the drone was captured by separatists of the so-called LPR.

The Army Forum is the largest military-themed event organized annually in Russia. This year, as in previous years, the entire military and political leadership of the country, from President Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and heads of Russian special services, took part. .

In addition to the usual Russian officials, there are guests from Moscow’s allied countries and countries to which Russia exports or wants to sell weapons. At this year’s edition, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu personally thanked the “outstanding military leaders” of Burundi, Uganda, Sudan and other African states “friendly” to Russia.

Serhii Shoigu also spoke about the possibility of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine, saying that Russia does not need them to win the war. At the same time, he accused NATO members of wanting to expand their activities in the Pacific region, citing the latest accusations from Beijing.

Russian President Vladimir Putin made similar comments.

Russia also wants Bayraktar TB2 drones

Turkish President Recep Erdogan said late last month that Vladimir Putin had offered Russia cooperation with Baykar, an Istanbul-based company that makes Bayraktar TB2 drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles.

However, Haluk Bayraktar, one of the two brothers who run the Turkish company, strongly ruled out such a possibility a week before.

“We did not deliver or supply them [rușilor] we will never do anything like that. We support Ukraine, we support its sovereignty, we support its struggle for independence,” he emphasized.

Seluk Bayraktar, his brother and son-in-law of President Recep Erdogan, made similar comments in late May, saying he was proud that Ukrainians were using Turkish-made drones against Russian occupiers.

“This is an illegal invasion, so TB2 is helping the honorable Ukrainian people to defend their country,” he added.

By the way, earlier in August, the Kyiv authorities announced that they had reached an agreement with a Turkish company to open a factory for the production of Bayraktar TB2 drones on the territory of Ukraine.
