For several months now, filling up the gas tank of his car hurts, very much. And for good reason, because war in UkraineIn addition to inflation and taxation, fuel prices have risen sharply. Everything is very simple, the price of gasoline and diesel fuel sometimes even exceeded two euros on average, and at some service stations even a liter was displayed for more than 2.30 euros. An extremely difficult situation for motorists, private or professional. Some were even forced to cut back on their daily commutes, while others even had to cancel vacations to avoid overspending. But, fortunately, the situation starts to improve as the months go by.

A sharp drop
Indeed, the price of fuel has been falling very sharply over the past few weeks, and the era of the two-litre euro seems to be finally behind us. This is very good news, which can be explained, in particular, by the fall in the price of a barrel of oil. This may seem surprising given the reduction in Russian exports due to sanctions imposed by the European Union. Be that as it may, the price of gasoline and diesel fuel has fallen considerably and is now at the level of February, just before the start of the war in Ukraine. True, it was already high, but lower than in March, for example. Today barrel stands at $93, a far cry from the $140 it hit a few months earlier. And this directly affects the price paid at the gas station.
Less than 1.80 euros
According to the latest estimates from the Ministry of Environmental Development, a liter of unleaded 95 petrol now costs an average of €1.736, while diesel costs around €1.79. For its part, unleaded 98 is always above €1.80, as a liter costs €1.8420 on average. However, this remains much lower than what we experienced a few months ago. in superethanol E85 is shown at €0.8050 against €0.8590 for LPG, which is still below the €1 mark.
I am introducing a bill aimed at reducing gasoline taxes in the face of record high fuel prices and taxing oil company dividends.
