Davyd Popovici, after finishing fourth in the final of the 400-meter freestyle at the European Swimming Championships in Rome, decided to end his career before the big final. This decision was explained by the coach of the two-time European and world champion Adrian Redulescu.
Adrian Redulescu, coach of the athlete – David Popovici is not injured, just tired
“The aim was to test myself at the senior European championships in the 400m freestyle, an important event primarily to prepare the other two, where the results were really brilliant, but it also came with fatigue.
Competitions in Peru (without the Junior World Cup) are no less important for us, where we want good results” – Adrian Radulescureports the Romanian Federation of Swimming and Modern Pentathlon.
“He’s not injured, physically he’s fine, he would probably swim well in today’s final, but a lot has come together and we want to do good things in the future.
There were many emotions from this European. We decided that it would be better to protect it, especially since we are only in Bucharest for two days. On August 21, we are going to Lima to participate in the World Junior Championship, where we have beautiful goals again” – Adrian RadulescuKS Dynamo reports.
