CFR Infrastructura has opened the bids submitted for the public tender procedure for “Quick Wins Type Projects – Speed ​​Limit Removal Works to Restore Technical Parameters of Track Superstructure”, on Line 412 Jibou – Carei (4 lots).

The distance between the two cities in the northwest of the country is 112 km, which connect only two trains per day in one direction, the time varies from 2 hours 33 minutes to 2 hours 47 minutes. There are Regio trains that stop at all stations.

Line 412 has never been high-speed, but has had a few trains: for example, in 2005 there were four trains a day between Jibu and Karei, and an accelerated train between Zalau Nord and Jibu. In the early 1980s there were only two trains a day from one end of the 412 line to the other, and journey times were longer.

The National Railway Company “CFR” SA announces that the Regional Railway Branch of Cluj has opened the offers submitted for the public tender procedure for “Projects of the type Quick Wins – Works to eliminate speed restrictions for the restoration of the technical parameters of the track superstructure”, on the line 412 Jibou – Carei ( 4 lots).

During the procedure, only one economic entity – DRUM ASFALT SRL – applied for 4 lots related to the CF Jibou line – which:

Lot 1 – km 8+540 – km 9+760 (line I), km 8+497 – km 9+800 (line II)

Lot 2 – km 15+280 – km 16+800 (I and II wires)

Lot 3 – km 16+800 – km 21+900 (wire I)

Lot 4 – km 21+900 – km 23+550 (I and II lines)

The estimated total purchase price for 4 lots is 78,296,543.83 lei without VAT.

Lot 1 – 17,079,746.18 lei, excluding VAT

Lot 2 – 20,274,598.18 lei, excluding VAT

Lot 3 – 20,255,208.31 lei without VAT

Lot 4 – 20,686,991.16 lei, excluding VAT

Funding is provided in the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), according to Table 25 Cost of Quick Win Projects Funded through PNRR, GEO no. 124/2021, State Budget Law No. 317/2021 and HG No. 209/2022.

As part of the project, works will be carried out to replace the components of the upper structure of the road in a row and create a road without joints.

The main benefits of the works are: elimination of restrictions and speed limits, elimination of costs caused by restrictions/restrictions, improvement of operational efficiency, reduction of negative impact on the environment and return of the technical condition of the line to the design parameters.
