A 65-year-old man arrested in the morning in Thassos as the main suspect in a large Fire which broke out in the previous days in Skala Potamia, burned out the mountain forest.

Under investigation police officers as well as firefighters Flares and flammable materials were found in the detainee’s car.

The prosecutor is expected to charge him on the basis of the case file compiled by the fire department and the police, after which he will be taken to the investigator for an apology.

It should be emphasized that a few 24 hours after the start of the fire on the island of Thassos, the Arson Response Team (KAEE), consisting of fire investigators, was activated, as well as the team of the Arson Investigation Authority (DAEE) was also transferred from Athens to investigate the causes of the fire.
