Serena Williams and Emma Raducanu’s WTA Cincinnati first-round main event has been postponed by American organizers, disappointing fans who were ready to see the pair clash on Monday night.

Initially, the organizers announced that the match between Serena and Emma will take place on Monday, August 15, but the match was postponed to Tuesday, for the evening session.

Especially for the match between Serena Williams and Emma Reducanu, the fans took a vacation and spent it on a trip

The decision of the organizers caused great disappointment among many fans who were specially preparing to see the match between them.

The match generated huge interest, given that it will be Serena’s penultimate tournament before she retires from tennis (she will say goodbye to the sport at the US Open).

The Cincinnati organizers reasoned the decision to postpone the match as follows: “due to a number of scheduling factors.”

Serena Williams vs. Emma Reducan was supposed to take place on Monday night in Cincinnati, but the match will finally take place on Tuesday night (Wednesday in Romania) at around 02:00 (Romanian time). Rain interrupted some games in Cincinnati on Sunday.

Almost 41 years old (which she will celebrate on September 26), Serena Williams is currently ranked 612th in the world, while Emma Reducan is 13th.

Bookmakers consider the British woman the favorite for the match against the legendary Serena Williams.

The Western & Southern Open is the last tournament before the US Open 2022

A WTA 1000 category competition, the tournament will be held on hard from August 15 to 21, 2022. Its total prize pool is $2,527,250 and there are 64 players at the start of the main draw. The reigning champion is Ashley Barty (now retired), who won the title last year.
