The armed forces of Ukraine carried out a new drone attack on the territory of Russia, destroying an observation tower in the Belgorod region.
Anton Gerashenko, adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, re-published the video of the attack on his Twitter page, noting that the tower was probably used to monitor the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He also says the attack was carried out by a kamikaze drone, without specifying whether they were Switchblade drones obtained by the Ukrainians from the United States, but the scattered nature of the explosion seems to suggest so.
Another video that appeared on social networks at the end of July recorded what appears to be the first Ukrainian attack on Russian territory with American-made weapons. And this attack was carried out using a Switchblade drone.
Ukrainian attacks with American weapons on the territory of Russia
The attack immediately attracted attention, as the administration of Democratic President Joe Biden demanded clear guarantees from Kyiv that American weapons would not be moved through Russian territory in order not to provoke an escalation of the conflict.
However, given that Washington has announced a significant new military aid package for Ukraine, it is possible that Washington officials have changed their minds on the matter or do not consider these attacks significant enough to provoke an escalation from Moscow.
Gerashenko’s comments on his Twitter page are all the more remarkable because Kyiv’s official position is to neither confirm nor deny attacks by its armed forces on Russian territory.
Most of these attacks took place in the Belgorod region near the Ukrainian border and were used by the Russians to support the invasion force. In Kyiv, they also did not want to confirm the spectacular helicopter attack on the Belgorod oil depot.
Carried out on the night of March 30 to April 1, it is considered the first attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the territory of Russia.
Ukrainian officials have also not officially confirmed the attack on the air base in Crimea, although they consider the peninsula part of their territory, not Russia, which illegally annexed it in 2014.
Responding to questions about the explosions, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov jokingly said that they were caused by badly extinguished cigarettes.
