The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, dismissed the heads of law enforcement agencies of four oblasts. The move comes less than a month after the leader in Kyiv ordered the firing of the head of the National Intelligence Service (SBU), as well as the prosecutor general.
Zelensky signed decrees on the dismissal of the heads of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv, Ternopil, and Lviv regions, Kyiv Independent reports.
However, Artem Bondarenko, head of the SBU of the Lviv region, was appointed head of the Kyiv department.
In July, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued decrees on the dismissal of the head of the State Security Service and the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Reuters reports.
The Kyiv leader says that officials of the institutions headed by Ivan Bakanov and Iryna Venediktova were currently working against Ukraine in the territories occupied by Russia, which calls into question their qualifications to lead two important institutions during the war.
