Over the last day, 2,254 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were registered, which is 397 less than the previous day, the Ministry of Health reported on Monday. Also, 9 deaths were recorded among patients with COVID, 281 patients are under inpatient treatment for acute respiratory failure.
According to the cited source, the 409 new cases reported in the last 24 hours are among reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first illness.
The most new cases of COVID in Bucharest – 476 and in the counties of Cluj – 190, Bacău – 120, Brasov – 112, Ilfov – 109. The highest incidence is in Bucharest – 7.67 and in the counties: Cluj – 7, 24, Sibiu – 6.31 , Timis – 6.28, Ilfov – 6.21, Brasov – 5.91, Constanta – 5.45.
To date, 13,372,417 RT-PCR tests and 11,003,244 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
In total, 3,159,626 cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the beginning of the pandemic.
In contrast to new cases, 96 people were reconfirmed after retesting patients who had already tested positive.
3,740 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized in specialized medical institutions, which is 122 more than the previous day, the Ministry of Health also reported.
281 patients are being treated in the ATI, of which 241 have not been vaccinated against COVID. Out of the total number of hospitalized, 494 are minors, 493 are hospitalized in the department, which is 26 more than the previous day, and 1 in the emergency department, one less than the previous day.
In the last day, 9 deaths among patients with COVID (men) were registered. Out of 9 deaths, one was registered in the age category of 50-59 years, three in the age category of 60-69 years, two in the age category of 70-79 years and three in the age category over 80 years.
According to the Ministry of Health, all the deceased patients had concomitant diseases, four were vaccinated against COVID. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 66,357 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died in Romania.
