“Eleven people were killed and six were injured, including a policeman,” the source said on Friday.
Among the dead was the attacker Vuk Borilovich (34) from Cetinje, who opened fire on several people, including policemen, Montenegrin mass media reported.
The injured policeman was also taken to the hospital and operated on.
A police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the figure to AFP.
Currently, more details about the reasons for the attack are unknown.
According to unofficial information, the attacker also shot passers-by in the Medovyna neighborhood after a fight in the family’s house.
The attack happened at the height of the tourist season in a country known for its picturesque beaches framed by mountains.
Cetinje, the former royal capital, is located in a mountain valley that has experienced economic stagnation in recent decades.
