
Italy’s National Statistical Institute Istat confirmed its latest July inflation forecasts. Inflation in Italy increased by 7.9% year on year and 0.4% month on month, according to the final data processing.
The prices of products included in the so-called “housewife’s basket” rose by 9.1% compared to July 2021: an upward trend that has been recorded since September 1984.
In general, prices for water and fuel increased by 24.7%, and for transportation by 13.9%.
The largest year-on-year increase in prices concerns the energy sector, where prices were higher by 42.9% in July.
