Ukraine’s armed forces will respond to the Russian bombing of the town of Marganets on Wednesday, which killed 13 people and injured 10 more, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his usual video address to the nation, Reuters reports.
Zelenskyi also noted that Ukraine needs to think about how to inflict as much damage as possible on Russian forces and thus shorten the war.
At least 13 people died as a result of explosions on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in the central part of Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk, governor Valentyn Reznichenko said on Wednesday.
More than 20 buildings were damaged in Marhanka, Reznichenko said, a town across the Dnipro River from the Russian-captured Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, where there have been other explosions.
As a result of the attack, the power line was damaged, several thousand people were left without electricity, Reznichenko said.
The attack damaged a dormitory, two schools, a concert hall, the main council building and other administrative bases, the governor added.
Reznichenko initially put the number of victims at 21, of which 11 were killed in the Nikopol district and 10 in Marhanka, but later clarified in a message on the Telegram messaging app that the total number was 11, without specifying which initial figures were incorrect.
He later said that two more people died from their injuries.
