Jason Momoa became a flight attendant for Hawaiian Airlines to celebrate the carrier’s partnership with its Mananalu bottled water company, and captured it all in a video he posted to Instagram.
To the amazement of passengers, the actor served water, known for its recyclable packaging, on the flight and even made a special announcement over the intercom.
The actor explained that the idea for the bottled water company was born during the flight when he thought there must be a better way to drink water than a small disposable plastic bottle and started looking for a solution by creating a recyclable version.
“Why don’t we have aluminum?” he says in the video. “There is soda, beer, soda, soft drinks. Why do I need this little water bag?
The equivalent of one plastic water bottle is also removed from the ocean with every aluminum package sold, according to the company’s website.
In a caption to the post, Momoa added, “…proud to have Hawaiian Airlines as the first airline to partner with Mananalu. This year we removed 3 million plastic bottles from the ocean. Don’t stop stirring the water to save our beautiful planet.”
