“Deputy chief of administration” temporarily occupied by Russian troops Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson region Vitaliy Gura died after an assassination attempt. The announcement was made on Saturday, August 6, by “head of administration” Vladimir Leontiev. Later, the information was confirmed on Telegram by the “deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region” Ekaterina Gubareva.
“Officially: Vitaliy Gura died of his injuries,” she wrote. “He was in the hospital. Military doctors tried to save a life,” Leontiev said, adding that small arms were used in the assassination attempt – machine guns and a pistol.
Murder near Gura’s house
According to Russian state media, the attack took place near Gura’s home, and shell casings were found there, presumably from a Makarov pistol.
Previously, Gura served as the head of the Dnipro district of the territorial community of the city of Novokakhovskaya. As the “deputy chief of administration” of Nova Kakhovka, occupied by Russian troops, he was responsible for housing and community services and the operation of infrastructure after the Russian Armed Forces’ missile attacks on the city.
The Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case.
