
The UEFA Appeals Committee announced on Friday the decision of the European Forum in the case of Fenerbahce fans who chanted the name of Vladimir Putin during the match against Dynamo Kyiv in the second preliminary round of the Champions League.
UEFA takes the following measures:
- Warning given to Fenerbahçe club regarding team misconduct;
- He fined the Turkish club Fenerbahçe €50,000 and ordered the partial closure of the Şukrı Saraçoğlu Stadium with at least 5,000 seats for the next match hosted by Fenerbahçe.
The motivation was that the gallery of the Istanbul club threw various objects on the lawn, sent provocative messages of an offensive nature and prohibited shouting.
The partial closure of some sectors of the Sucre Saracoglu Stadium is subject to a trial period that lasts for the next two years from the date of this decision.
On Wednesday, July 27, Dynamo Kyiv, coached by Mircea Lucescu, defeated Fenerbahce 2:1 in Istanbul in the second leg of the second preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League.
