
Over the last day, 7,765 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Romania, which is 852 less than the previous day. The infection rate in Bucharest, where the most new cases were registered – 1,436 per day – rose to 9.92 ppm.
1,472 of the new cases in 24 hours were re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection.
In contrast to newly confirmed cases, 362 people were reconfirmed positive after retesting patients who had already tested positive.
More than 4,100 hospitalized patients with COVID-19
In specialized medical facilities, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 4,103, which is 96 more than the previous day.
There are 258 people in the intensive care unit, which is 25 less than the previous day.
Of the 258 patients admitted to the HTI, 221 are unvaccinated.
Of the total number of hospitalized, 567 are minors, 563 are in wards, which is 29 more than the previous day, and 4 are in intensive care units, 1 less than the previous day.
26 deaths in the last day
From the beginning of the pandemic to today, 66,143 people with a diagnosed SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
In the period from 08/04/2022 (10:00) to 08/05/2022 (10:00) the National Institute of Health reported 26 deaths (17 women and 9 men), no deaths were registered before the control period.
Of the 26 deceased, 1 was registered in the age category of 20-29 years, 1 in the age category of 50-59 years, 4 in the age category of 60-69 years, 6 in the age category of 70-79 years, and 14 in the village of age category older than 80 years.
All the deceased had concomitant diseases, 5 were vaccinated.
How many Romanians were checked?
Over the last day, 4,402 RT-PCR tests were performed (2,792 by case definition and medical protocol and 1,610 by request) and 20,635 rapid antigen tests.
From the beginning of the pandemic to this date, 13,336,848 RT-PCR tests and 10,849,532 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
