Bucharest starts a war against cars

From the middle of August, new tariffs for parking spaces under the control of the capital city hall come into force. Thus, an hour of parking in the center of the capital, zone 0, will be 10 lei, in zone 1 – 5 lei, and in the rest of the city – 2.5 lei per hour. These rates apply only on streets managed by the General City Hall, not on streets managed by the Sector City Hall. The City Hall has also introduced a series of subscriptions (monthly, quarterly and yearly) for residents who have to prove that they live in the respective area, and the prices are not cheap at all: in zone 0, the monthly subscription is 1,050 lei, and annually reaches almost 9,450 lei, in the zone 1 monthly pass is more than 500 lei and annual pass is close to 5000 lei, and in zone 2 parking per month will cost 210 lei and 1890 lei per year.
