Kara-Murza was accused of spreading false news about the Russian army

On July 27, his lawyer announced that a new criminal case had been initiated against the oppositionist under part 1 of article 284.1 of the Penal Code “On the activities of a foreign or international non-governmental organization recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation.” At the same time, the decision to initiate proceedings was not handed over to the lawyers.

Kara-Murza has been in detention since April 22, 2022 on charges of spreading “fakes” about the Russian army. The reason for this was the politician’s speech in the Arizona House of Representatives on March 15th.
