
Over the last day, 7,129 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were registered in Romania, which is 350 more than the previous day. 1,363 of the new cases in 24 hours are re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection, according to the Ministry of Health.
The most cases of Covid in the last day were registered in Bucharest – 1,506 and the counties of Cluj – 558 and Constanta – 368.
In specialized medical institutions, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 2,432, which is 131 more than the previous day. Also, 155 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 11 more than the previous day.
Of the 155 patients admitted to the HTI, 136 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of hospitalized 385 minors, 382 are in wards, which is 6 more than the previous day, and 3 are in intensive care units, the same as the previous day.
In the period from 20.07.2022 (10:00) to 21.07.2022 (10:00) INSP reported 3 deaths (2 men and 1 woman), before the control interval – 1 death. Out of 3 fatal cases, 2 were registered in the age category of 70-79 years and 1 – in the age category over 80 years.
All registered deaths were from patients who had comorbidities. Out of a total of 3 deaths, 2 were vaccinated and 1 was unvaccinated.
As of today, 65,839 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died. Over the last day, 4,907 RT-PCR tests were performed (2,973 based on case definition and medical protocol and 1,934 by request) and 19,850 rapid antigen tests. To date, 13,268,686 RT-PCR tests and 10,558,083 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
