American Pentagon announced today that it will provide Ukraine a new military assistance package worth about $550 million, which includes, among other things, munitions for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
“To meet its growing needs on the battlefield,” the US will continue to work with its allies and partners to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with the necessary equipment for defense needs, the Pentagon said in a statement.
According to White House National Security Press Secretary John Kirby, the new package will increase U.S. military aid to Ukraine by a total of more than $8 billion since Joe Biden took office.
