London: 60th Anniversary Concert of the First James Bond Film

Shirley Bassey and Garbage will perform songs from the James Bond films at The Sound Of 007 benefit concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 4th.

This event is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the film franchise. The world premiere of the first 007 film, Dr. No” took place on October 5, 1962.

Hosted by five-time Bond composer David Arnold, the event will feature artists who have contributed to the Bond film soundtracks as well as special guests including Celeste, who will perform her own cover of classic theme songs from the film series. The artists will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Dodd.

Garbage and Bassey will perform The World Is Not Enough from the 1997 Bond film of the same name. “Sometimes life is so magical I can’t believe it,” Garbage vocalist Shirley Manson wrote on Instagram.

Producers Michael J. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said that music has always played an important role in the success of the 007 films and that the concert will celebrate the achievements of the legendary composers and artists they have had the privilege of working with.
