Zelensky on the resumption of grain exports: “Too early” to rejoice

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said today that it is “too early” to rejoice when commenting on the resumption of grain exports from the port of Odessa.

“At the moment, it is too early to draw conclusions and make any predictions,” he said in a video message. “Let’s wait and see how the agreement will work and whether security will really be guaranteed,” the Ukrainian president added.

Ukraine has been unable to send grain abroad via the Black Sea due to a Russian blockade of its ports since February 24, when the war began. Last month in Istanbul, the two countries signed a UN-sponsored agreement aimed at resuming exports to avert a global food crisis.
