Simona Halep claims she was dumped by Darren Cahill

According to the former world leader, Darren Cahill, the current coach of Yannick Sinner, would have given up on Simona Halep in 2021 after the coronavirus pandemic.

“Firstly, Darren left me last September, so I wasn’t leaving him, let’s be clear.

Secondly, I will not compare because they are very different (Cahill and current manager Patrick Muratoglu).

What I can say right now is that meeting Patrick is the best thing that could have happened to me. He has super energy. He is super nice. Therefore, it is very important for me to work with such people.

Now it’s all Muratoglu. The team is 100% him. Everything that happens around me is about his academy and himself.

I made this change because I truly felt it was time to do so. I thought I would be done with tennis at 30, but now I have started something beautiful and new.

Everything is completely new. So I will be happy. I’m actually enjoying it already. I’ll see how good I can be in the future.” – Simona Halepreports Eurosport.

In Washington, Simona Halep will play for a place in the quarters with the winner of the match between American Madison Brengle (61 WTA) and Russian Anna Kalinskaya (71 WTA).

Simona Halep and Darren Cahill have been together for six years in the WTA tournament

Simone and Darren began working together in 2015, initially working together through Adidas’ youth player development program.

Halep and Cahill worked in 2015-2018, and Simona managed to win the tournament at Roland Garros (2018) and reach the 1st place in the WTA hierarchy.

The first split occurred in late 2018, when Darren said he needed more time for his family.

On September 12, 2019, Simona announced the return of the Australian to her team. In the summer of the same year, our athlete won the title at Wimbledon together with Daniel Dobre and with the help of sports analyst Darren Cahill (ESPN).

The cooperation of the two continued in 2020, when, however, tennis was not played much due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, Simona did not participate in the US Open.

The 2021 season was difficult for Halep: she was injured in Rome, and then missed almost the most important part of the season: Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

They eventually decided to go their separate ways, and the divorce was announced on September 22, 2021.
